Bench Stones and Plates are an Integral requirement for sharpening your knives and tools, they come in all different shapes and sizes to suit standard and specialty applications. if you need to remove bulk material or you are trying to sharpen a very hard tool you will need a course to medium grit to get your sharpening process started, for finishing off or just maintenance you can use a fine to extremely fine grit.
